Our
Mission
Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc.’s mission is to provide quality comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy and child development services, through our expert staff of professionals.
While using a fiscally responsible approach, we seek to meet the needs of a diverse population, regardless of their ability to pay.
At Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc. (GPHA), we are committed to providing the best healthcare for families in the Philadelphia region no matter what their economic standing. We believe the uninsured and underinsured deserve comprehensive, accessible and quality healthcare as much as those who are insured.
Our health centers cater to the entire family—infants, teens, adults and seniors—with a superior medical staff that constantly strives to stay on top of new technology and techniques that will benefit our patients.
We operate:
- Comprehensive healthcare centers providing Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health and Pharmacy in 1 location
- GPHA, Inc. Medical Suite at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry
- School-Based health suites within select Philadelphia Schools
- Dental Centers
- Behavioral Healthcare Centers
- Woodland Academy Child Development Center
In addition, we offer the convenience of electronic medical records and onsite labs, which makes access to test results and patient history much faster.
At GPHA, we have been serving the area for over 50 years and have provided a continuum of care to generations of families. The foundation of our care is centered on the “whole” person—body and mind—and providing healthcare and behavioral care in the same convenient location.
With over 85,000 patients in the Greater Philadelphia area, we make a difference by addressing issues such as:
- Infant mortality
- Alcohol and substance addiction
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)
- Hypertension
- Low-birth weight in newborns
- Oral Health
- Sexually transmitted diseases
We also show our support for the communities we serve through constant interaction in the form of health fairs, open houses and special events for our children, adults and seniors.
GPHA was founded in 1970 as part of a movement to ensure that quality healthcare is consistently available in the community. Since that time, we have built a reputation as a leader in helping communities identify the health needs of their residents and developing quality medical and social services programs to address those needs. GPHA is also the largest non-hospital healthcare provider in the region, and we’re growing. We take pride in our ability and willingness to serve anyone. We accept most commercial insurance plans, managed care programs as well as Medicare and Medicaid.
GPHA is accredited by The Joint Commission in both Ambulatory and Behavioral Healthcare, as well as, recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient Centered Medical Home.
