Before You Begin
Before you start working at GPHA, there are important steps to complete for a smooth onboarding experience. Use this page as your guide through the process.
During the pre-employment process, most of our communication will be sent via email or text. Please check for multiple messages leading up to your start date, including your spam/junk folder. If you prefer to connect by phone, we are happy to schedule a time to walk you through onboarding and answer any questions. Let your Human Resources Representative know your preferred method of communication.
A Human Resources Representative will reach out to you and send an email to start your vetting process. You will need to provide the requested supporting documents and application packet in order to start the vetting process.
- As part of the employment process, all new hires are required to complete both the Child Abuse Clearance and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Background Check before their start date.
- The Human Resources Representative overseeing your vetting will schedule your FBI Background Check after receiving the FBI Registration Form, but you are required to handle the Child Abuse Clearance on your own.
- To initiate your application, please visit the Child Welfare Portal at https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home. Upon receiving your clearance results, provide both the clearance document and the receipt for reimbursement via email. It is crucial that this clearance is submitted within 24 hours of receiving the vetting initiation email, as processing may take 2-3 weeks. The application must be completed on a computer or tablet. If you do not have access to either one, please inform your Human Resources Representative immediately so we can assist you.
